In a recent article on the subject of ‘PURGATORY’ that is located on http://www.takeheed.info/pdf/November-2014/Purgatory.pdf I included as part of the article the text of a leaflet that I wrote and published in the early days of ‘Take Heed’ Ministries. The leaflet in question was called ‘Purgatory before Death’. It was one of a number of leaflets I wrote and published on a variety of topics but all of them are now long-since out of print. It is my intention (DV) to republish the text of these leaflets as online ministry web site articles and where suitable to link them to a video on the ministry YouTube site.
The Lord Jesus Christ clearly put His ‘seal of approval’ upon the medical profession when He said “They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick” (Matthew 9:12).
Sadly ‘The Church Of Christ Scientist’ (‘Christian Science’) that was founded by Mary Baker Eddy and whose followers adhere to the somewhat confusing and unscriptural teachings set forth in her book ‘Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures’ misrepresent the views of the Lord Jesus Christ on this whole issue of seeking medical help when sick.
The religious affairs page of the Saturday edition of the Belfast Telegraph is comprised mostly of two large items – the ‘musings’ of their religious affairs correspondent, Alf McCreary and a ‘Thought For The Weekend’ given by one of a panel of 4 writers. The rest of the space on the page is then filled up with short items submitted to the paper by various religious groups and churches. In Saturday 2nd February 2008 one of those shorter items read as follows –
The public will hear first-hand accounts of people who are living Christian Science and how their prayers have healed them and others. Tom Black, of the Christian Science board of directors said “People hear about Christian Science relying on prayer for healing, but what does that really mean? It is good to know that people who rely on the web for information have a place where they can hear about Christian Science healing directly from those who have experienced it.” The Church also wants the website to clear up some common misconceptions about Christian Science, underlining the fact that it is a Christian, Bible-based religion, AND NOT A CULT, and that Christian Science is not Scientology.
