Since around the mid 1990’s it would appear that Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) has become increasingly ambivalent (indecisive) where Roman Catholicism is concerned.
An article posted on
gives helpful information on how DTS reacted to the 1994 ‘Evangelicals and
Catholics Together’ document and it could be described as ‘wishy-washy’.
The relevant portion is found under the heading
The same section also draws attention to the invitation by DTS to a Roman Catholic, William Bennett, to be a guest speaker at their 75th anniversary celebrations held in 1999.
As a hopefully helpful backdrop to this article perhaps I could invite you, the reader, if you have not already done so, to read the article UNITARIANISM that was posted to the ministry web site last year. This link will take you to that article –
In that article you will see that UNITARIANISM views the Lord Jesus Christ as merely a man and not the God-Man revealed to us in God’s Word (1 Timothy 3:16). That error is very much to the fore in what we will consider later in this article. Over the 2017 Christmas festive season my attention was drawn to the fact that a reasonably well-known and popular Christmas carol, ‘It came upon the midnight clear’ was written by a UNITARIAN minister called Edmund Sears. I was given a copy of a letter published recently in Evangelicals Now in which the author (Professor Colin Reeves, Thurlaston, Rugby, who kindly agreed to my quoting him) wrote –
Last year I spoke in quite a number of churches/fellowships to mark what many considered to be the 500th anniversary of The Reformation on 31st October 2017. This short article will give links to the talks I gave in Newbuildings Independent Methodist Church on Friday and Saturday, 27th & 28th October 2017.
The first talk dealt with
(1) Reasons for The Reformation
(2) Reaction to The Reformation.
The second talk dealt with
(3) Reversal of The Reformation
(4) Rejoicing in The Reformation.

Ministry Update Letter : July 2017 – December 2017
Dear praying friends and supporters of ‘Take Heed’,
In my last ministry letter (January 2017 – June 2017) I wrote the following
I am likewise going to be busy with speaking/preaching engagement between now and the end of the year (DV). Again, locally, I am scheduled to speak/preach 18 times (many of them Reformation-anniversary-related). Then late July-early August I shall be in the Isle of Man to preach 4 times and also give my 2-part Reformation talk. Then also over the first two weeks of September I shall be in Canada where to date I am scheduled to speak/preach on 7 occasions. Your prayers for all these plans will be greatly appreciated.
I am truly grateful to all those who prayed and herewith
is a short report on how all those plans went.
On a number of occasions in the past I have addressed the issue of SCIENTOLOGY and my articles can be accessed on these links –
SCIENTOLOGY opens a ‘CATHEDRAL’ IN FLORIDA
Over recent weeks there have been a number of articles published and programmes aired on TV and Radio that related to SCIENTOLOGY and for information purposes Ithought it would be helpful to give details of how to access them.
The first relates to the purchase of a large building in Birmingham in the UK which will be the HQ for that area and this is the link that gives details on this –
CARL LENTZ of HILLSONG NYC is the subject of a very helpful article for which I will give the link. This man is DANGEROUS to the cause of the Lord Jesus Christ as you will discern from the excerpts of interviews he has given on a number of occasions.
One of those interviews is with Oprah Winfrey and in the earlier interview segments Mr Lentz reminded me of someone who is now a close friend of Ms Winfrey, namely Rob Bell – why does Mr Lentz remind me of him – for these reasons – (a) when asked a question he uses lots of words but never really addresses the issue clearly and authentically biblically, he’s like a bar of soap in the shower, he slithers about and (b) at the conclusion of his interview he goes on and on about ‘God’ and ‘love’ and of course that was the dominating theme of Rob Bell’s book ‘Love wins’ that basically promoted unscriptural and heretical universalism.
Ministry Update Letter : January 2017 – June 2017
Dear praying friends and supporters of ‘Take Heed’
It is regrettable to have to say it, but much of 2017 has so far has been dominated by a never ending (it seems) succession of Islamic atrocities. As usual, we have press and political reactions that express horror, but continue to insist that these events are not a true reflection of the religion of Islam. In the wake of the Manchester bombing, the Religious Affairs correspondent of the Belfast Telegraph, Alf McCreary used his Saturday column to give his reaction to that dreadful event. I immediately posted my own response on Facebook (now also on the web site) to what he wrote and I want to share extracts from that post with you now –
Alf McCreary in his column in today’s Belfast Telegraph has devoted it to his reflections on the Manchester murders on Monday past when a Jihadist carried out a suicide bombing that claimed many lives and wounded scores of others… these are the (ludicrous) comments by Alf McCreary that I want to highlight.
I have sadly just learned that BENNY HINN is due to be speaking again in Belfast (24th – 25th November). Details of the visit can be accessed on
In recent times, no less a person that Benny Hinn’s nephew, COSTI HINN has been telling of how he used to work for a time for his uncle’s‘ministry’ (as a ‘catcher’).
However, following a genuine conversion, Costi eventually disassociated himself from the teachings of ‘Benny Hinn Ministries’ (and other like-minded ‘ministries’). Recently he has spent time giving interviews and telling of how he came to that point and he has been graciously, but resolutely exposing the unbiblical nature of what is taught in ‘Word of Faith’’ circles.
On Monday 12th March 2007 I gave a talk to an assembled meeting of Presbyterian Ruling Elders from various congregations in Co Antrim in Northern Ireland. I chose to speak to them on the subject of ‘Islam’ as of course the Islamic presence in Northern Ireland is growing steadily. In November of this year (2008) I was once more in the company of one of the elders who had organised the invitation for me to speak and he told me that in the wake of my talk he had received a phone call from a female ‘ruling elder’ that had been in attendance at the meeting. She wanted to express her concern at the approach I had taken in my talk and felt that I was suffering from and promoting Islamophobia.
Monday 22nd May 2017 was a day of murderous infamy in Manchester as a Jihadi suicide bomber blew himself up as a pop concert audience was beginning to leave the Manchester Arena.
ALF McCREARY, the Religious Affairs correspondent of the Belfast Telegraph addressed this atrocity in his column on Saturday 27th May 2017 and in it made a totally ludicrous claim that Jihadi violence is not sanctioned by The Koran.
Having read his article I was moved to post the following on Facebook which demonstrates clearly that Mr McCreary does not know what he is talking (writing) about. This was my post –
